Service fee
Our only per-order charge: $0.99 + 7.5%, capped at $2.99 — $2.79 on a $24 order, and never above $2.99 however large the order. It covers running DriverEats and securely processing your payment, so the restaurant and your driver each keep their full price. Shown as one line at checkout (no hidden add-ons). We never take a commission out of the restaurant's sale, and never mark up the menu.

We do not charge a peak-time or busy-zone surcharge — ever. Your delivery fee is the same at 7pm Friday as it is at 2pm Tuesday. Only bad weather adds a premium, and it goes 100% to the driver.

On normal days there is no weather fee at all. When the weather turns, a small weather premium is added — and it goes 100% to the driver braving the roads for you. In genuinely dangerous conditions we pause deliveries entirely.

Tiers are set automatically per zone from live National Weather Service data — real conditions on the ground, not a guess. The weather premium is always itemized separately at checkout — never hidden in your total. Bikes & scooters are paused for safety from Tier 1 up.

How much does DriverEats charge restaurants?
$0. Listing, taking orders, getting dispatched and the Kitchen Display are free for restaurants — no commission, no monthly fee, no menu markup. You keep 100% of every sale, and money lands directly in your own Stripe account (we never hold it). The software is what's paid: the POS register is a flat monthly plan ( — founding rates lower); optional voluntary support is exactly that — optional.
What's the difference between KDS and POS?
KDS (Kitchen Display) shows every order on a tablet in the kitchen — live timers, allergy alerts, bump-when-it's-up. That comes free with your account, forever, and runs alongside whatever register you already have. POS (Point of Sale) is the front-of-house register itself: dine-in tables, floor plan, bar tabs, tap-to-pay and employee management — that is the paid software ( — founding rates lower). The screen is free; the register is what you pay for.
Are there tablet or integration fees?
Nothing you have to buy from us — it all runs on a tablet you already own, and we'd rather you brought your own. The portal, the free Kitchen Display and your reports come with the free account. The POS register (checkout & tap-to-pay) is the paid software: one flat monthly fee ( — founding rates lower), no per-terminal charge on any of them. Never a lease, never a per-swipe fee.
When does restaurant money land?
Same day. When a customer places an order, the money goes directly to your Stripe account at checkout — DriverEats never holds it. Stripe then settles to your bank on its normal schedule (typically next business day). No waiting 7–14 days like DoorDash.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No contracts, no cancellation fees. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
Do drivers see acceptance rate?
No. Acceptance rate is private — we track it internally for platform health but never show it to drivers.
